In my work coaching high-achieving leaders and power couples, I've found the mainstream definition of 'commitment' falls short. It lacks the functionality needed to unlock new levels of success. After years of guiding clients, I’ve refined it:

Commitment is consistent, (virtuous) action toward your desire, to the point of momentum.

When timed correctly, that momentum is multiplied.

Let's unpack the mechanics behind this.

  • Consistent, Virtuous Action: This is about creating a supportive structure for success. Many people see commitment, and consistency as a grind, but it doesn't have to be. When you take action that is virtuous for you—aligned with your unique moral compass and personal blueprint—the path becomes easier, not harder. My clients learn how to turn discipline into a tailwind, creating a natural flow toward their actual goals.

  • Toward Your Desire: Desire is your destination. Knowing what you want is the first step, but it’s not enough. Your personal blueprint reveals the specific actions that will actually work to get you there. These are unique to you. Without this awareness of how to act, even the clearest desire can remain out of reach.

  • To the Point of Momentum: In order to make real progress, you need momentum. This is when your consistent actions create a force of their own. But it's not just enough to take the right actions; you also have to take them at the right time. This is where my ability to understand a client's unique timing allows me to guide them to act not just correctly, but at the precise moment for maximum impact. The result is massive momentum.

For the leaders and power couples I work with, this framework is often experienced but hardly ever verbalized. They end up experiencing my definition of commitment by aligning more deeply with themselves, and leveraging their own personal timing. The progress they make is a direct result of their commitment to themselves, and their desires as well as the consistent action behind that commitment, and the momentum that results.

True commitment can help you move beyond fleeting motivation and tap into a deeper source of power. You can learn to align the right actions with the right timing to create unstoppable momentum in your life and in your relationships.

If you're tired of doing things the hard way and are ready to align with your way, it's time to reach your next level. Your personalized seasonal gameplan is just a click away. I'll see you on the other side!
